Take a look at two pictures in link above, and then imagine what had to happen that those look like that right now. Arab-invasion, Spanish reconquest, Mongol-invasion, Turkish-invasion (driven by Mongols), and finally Russian-invasion...

Not even to mention coast of eastern Africa, Malaysia and Indonesia converting to Islam by connections to Muslim-traders...

My opinion is that the bible versed quoted do not bear any relationship to the pictures. If Jesus had said, "The one true religion will be the one that arises in 600 years in northern Africa," then you might have a point. But Jesus is actually reported to have said something along the lines of, "The kingdom of Heaven is small, but it'll get bigger." And so you conclude that, since Islam started small and got bigger, he must have been talking about Islam?

As for the "birds"...if you read that and think "That must correlate to a piece of land which kind of looks like a bird," then you have failed in a basic task of reading comprehension.
