I'm afraid you've confused me, though. (But I wouldn't worry about that, my tiny brain is frighteningly easily confused).

Does this mean that your solution to the problem of evil is that we don't have free will?
Well, no, the fact that our freedom for now is limited and not fully free is not a solution - it is a statement of the problem. Man in his fallen condition - as he is, apart from Christ - is to one degree or another a slave. He is in bondage. Addicts help us to see the human condition of bondage, in a kind of extreme way in the particular arena of their addiction.

That's an unsupported assertion, but I can see why it would be a useful one for someone trying to push a religion. It's like telling people that they're very, very sick with some sickness that can't be treated in any way other than to buy whatever medicine you're selling.

Alas, the trick doesn't work on whoever wants more evidence of the sickness, or in this case "the bondage". If you think I am a slave or a fuzzy bunny or whatever, show through reasoning or evidence how I am a slave or a fuzzy bunny or whatever.

And as for your copy and paste from AA, there's a difference between alcohol and "sin". People can agree on what alcohol is and can provide evidence that alcohol exists. The same cannot be done with "sin".

First, I am happy that you are continuing to be so keen on refuting all that I write. That suggests to me that the issues are important to you - and well should they be. Every human person was made for more than merely this world, this life, this few years.

Yes, AA points us all to the power of addiction. And we see now many, many groups of people who experienced addictions of other sorts, who could relate to the insights of AA, and who now have adapted the AA methods and insights. Addictions of all sorts! Just Google the word "anonymous" and you will get a list of many - Narcotics Anonymous, Overeaters Anonymous, Sexaholocs Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, even Debtors Anonymous! Sex Addicts Anonymous. Schizophrenics Anonymous. And the list goes on.

The world is filled with persons struggling in bondage to compulsive behaviors of one sort or another. But the fundamental fact is that all men struggle with conflicting and contradictory desires, of varying strengths, some so strong that they are rightly called compulsions.

The point is that these are beyond the will of the person. He may "want" these things, the objects of his disordered desires, but he does not want to want them!

Freedom means freedom from such disordered desires, and freedom to embrace the truly good.

Alcoholics Anonymous is worse than useless. The success rate is equal to that of no intervention but the death rate is higher, this was the finding of a study conducted by an AA enthusiast.

Not at all. They did a very good job with my brother. Of speeding him along to a place in "heaven" that is. After AA convinced him of how much Jeebus loved him, he came to the realization that a bullet to the head is a sure cure for alcoholism, and what the hay, you get a place in heaven. Must have looked a lot better than the real life options.

What a sobering website! Now I understand why so many AA's preach at me for having an occasional drink now and then, and why they "hate" me for being atheist.

It suggests to me that I have a habit of refuting nonsense. I hope that makes you happy too.

How your laundry list of addictions relates to the concept of "sin" is not clear.

Including bondage to religions such as christianity.

That is not a fundamental fact. Without supporting evidence, that is your belief or assertion. Without knowing what "all men" (and really, how sexist can you get?) think, you cannot make this claim.

More unsupported assertions and undefined claims.
