Islam might be the nicest, most pleasant religion in the world*, but that has nothing to do with its truth. Even if you could make the case that the religion is nice and pleasant and happy and fuzzy, we're already nice, pleasant, happy, and fuzzy, so we have no need to adopt the religion. And if we're not already nice, then why should we change? It's a dumb argument from the get-go. *It's not, of course. Even militant Buddhism** has it beat by a mile. **Yes, there is such a thing as militant Buddhism. |

Dr. Zaghloul El-Naggar has a wonderful list of credentials in Geology. However, many members of the Intelligent Design camp at the Discovery Institute also have excellent credentials in various disciplines. Unfortunately, they all rely on supernatural original causes. Therefore I am not surprised that Dr. El-Naggar is a Muslim Creationist. |

Oh dear, the 'Argumentum ad Embryonic Development'. It should bother believers that not only is the Qur'an dead wrong but it copied the mistakes of Galen in doing so. A good high-school biology course is all you need to see how the Qur'an is off. For some reason believers are hesitant to acknowledge this... The site makes the statement that the universe was created in six days. Aside from the fact that assertions are not evidence, everything we know about astronomy, geology, biology etc. puts a big honking axe through the six day creation myth. Really, the best 'proof' that link offers for anything is the circular argument 'The Qur'an is the Word of God (tm) and we should believe it because it says so'. Now here's my favorite. There's a map 'proving' that Mecca is the center of the world. Wow, because you can draw some lines on a piece of paper I guess that means it must be so. :rolling: The fact that you can arbitrarily make any point on a sphere the 'center' in a two-dimensional depiction seems to have been lost on the believers. The fact that their map is off-center just adds to the beauty of it. |

Draw inferences that don't stand up to close examination? Threaten non-believers with things that they don't believe in? |
