Default Why does God choose to limit the size of the Christian church?

If you want to convince people that at least one being in the universe is able to speak a new galaxy into existence, logically, it would be best to demonstrate that you are able to speak a new galaxy into existence, not ask people to believe by faith that you are able to speak a new galaxy into existence. If a God exists, it is obvious that he wants to limit the number of people who believe that he exists by refusing to speak a new galaxy into existence.

Consider the following Scriptures:

John 2:23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

John 3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

If those events happened, then obviously PERSONAL demonstrations of power are useful methods for building a church.

2 Peter 3:9 says that God is not willing that any should perish. How do you interpret that Scripture? Surely no skeptic would be willing to go to hell, or willing to drown, if he knew how to avoid it. There is not sufficient evidence that hell exists.

Giving equal opportunities to everyone is better, or don't you believe in fairness?

If you had the power to do anything that you wanted to do, and you wanted people to believe that you exist, and to know what you want them to do with their lives, would you demonstrate your powers at all? If so, to how many people, in how many places, and in how many generations? How insistent would you be on requiring faith that you had great powers as opposed to be willing to provide more firsthand tangible evidence for people?

Dude, you start a lot of threads. I don't think there are many fundies on here, mostly liberal Christians. You ask great questions, btw. Maybe try them over on Christianforums, in the GA section. Good luck.

True, there are not many fundies at this forum, but there are enough to give me good debating practice. In addition, many people read posts who never make posts, and I enjoy the opportunity to influence some of them.

Thanks for letting me know about Christianforums. I will take a look at it.

That's more or less a rhetorical question from Johnny, motorhead. There are plenty of fundamentalist Christians on IIDB, they just don't consider themselves that or they've already had their "back parts" handed back to them by Johnny Skeptic.
