Default Interesting religious discussion on slashdot

http://science.slashdot.org/article....53238&from=rss

What I found most interesting about it is that the highly modded statements are as good as anything you'd find here or elsewhere. They dealt quite well with agnostics, problems with religious moderates, hypocrisy of christians, definitions of christianity.. etc. I'm quite sure they couldn't do this last year. Seems like the new atheism is having some effect, if only to a subset of the population.

It's always been like this on Slashdot. It's not a haven for atheism per se but you will find that a lot of bull is simply not tolerated by the readership.

What do you mean, you don't think so? Surely a good skeptic should neither believe or not believe in that?

Well, that's a silly example. There's evidence the Earth isn't filled with custard. It has a magnetic field.

*However*, if the earth were filled with *magnetic* custard...
