So, are you looking for a boxing match Johnny? Are you the High Priest of Freeratio? Am I supposed to be afraid of you? Lets turn the question around; do you think that you are the only son of god Johnny?

No, I do not think that Jesus fed 5,000 people with two fish and five loaves of bread. I think he fed billions of people with two fish and five loaves of bread. If you want to call that a miracle, there is nothing stopping you; certainly, I am not stopping you.

I like to write Johnny, and every now and then I can write something well. I am currently writing a story about a young boy who sets out on an adventure one sunny morning. Along the way he gets caught up amongst a multitude and is carried along until at last, he finds himself sitting on a hillside. With him he carries his most prized possessions, two fish and five loaves of bread............

You may or may not like my story Johnny, to which I would shrug and say, it is what it is?

You may then ask, what is it? To which I would reply Smooth.

I think Santana calls that Supernatural. Love Santana! He be the man.

Based upon what evidence? The Bible does not say that Jesus fed billions of people with two fish and five loaves of bread. Are you saying that Jesus personally, tangibly gave fish and bread to people who lived in China?

Do you believe that Jesus was the only begotten Son of God, physically rose from the dead, was seen by hundreds of people, and was touched by some people?

Another wondrous contradiction - the Pharisees were interested in the spirit of the law!

Pharisees, Herod and Saducees put together shows a complete non understanding that they were very different groups! The pharisees were very likely to hobnob with publicans and sinners!

A fairly easy error to make for the non-Jewish originators of Christianity.

Apologetics is technically the defense of the faith. The faith involved is basically indefensible since it is full of contradictions and absurdities, so in practice Christian apologetics involves trying to explain these away. But somehow it never involves apologizing.

And also, making the statement that one of the most famous scenes from the NT actually isn't history, but allegory, would be rather controversial? :constern01:

Or?

(And I'm not being sarcastic, those are genuine statements.)
Except for fundamentalists, most Christians accept that some of the gospels are allegorical and are not literal history. I don't think that most Christians would be very shocked if the feeding scenes were not literal history.

It is only when you describe the existence of Jesus himself as allegory that you start to become controversial.
Ok, thank you for clarifying that (again, not being sarcastic).

I think the thread gone off the deep end but the answer for my questions, so I'm happy.

I didn't think of that. It could be!
What of the feeding of 4,000 in Decapolis - a Gentile region?

Does seven represent the seven nations of Canaan and, therefore, the Gentile world 'that would simply be left behind'?
