On the contrary, you have chosen powerlessness, the Bible is just a book. If there WAS "power" in the Bible, then somebody would be able to demonstrate this, yes?

Of course, those who believe this stuff still have "power" (though it's a lot weaker than in medieval times and is still waning across much of the world), but that's a separate issue.

Another powerful rebuttal.

As a U.S.Champion Debater, your substantive destruction of your opponents arguments is positively awesome.

Let's see how this goes. You claim the bible is literally true, correct, inerrant. If someone takes the time and effort to demonstrate you are wrong, then they are "wrong."

Way to go. Very impressive.

Would it be possible for you to take a moment off from your crushing dismissal of atheistic arguments to explain what happened on the day described by this divinely inspired biblical verse?

JOSHUA10:13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

Thank you.

And bearing in mind that the apparent movement of the sun is due to the earth's rotation and not actual movement of the sun, as the person who wrote that text apparently thought.

Apparently being "inspired of god" doesn't reveal much knowledge about the way the heavens actually work.

Edit: oh, this thread is a month old. Sorry about that.

That's OK. We may yet find out whether or not mata leao believes the earth goes around the sun.
