I am a sucker for pretty eyes, cheekbones, and black leather, in purely visual terms. But frankly, the sexiest thing in the world is wit, in the sense of verbal dexterity, a sense of humour, and creativity. I like a man who can entertain me.

it's cos I am short ya know ... 5'2. So if I date a tall guy, I can only SEE his deficiencies from a distance. I didn't realise my current boyfriend had a bald patch till I saw him sitting down.

i voted eyes but face would be close as well. there's nothing better than looking into my boyfriend's beautiful eyes and swooning, or seeing his adorable smile I know his eyes were one of the first things i noticed about him when I met him though, so thats what I voted for.

Yeah, if it was a "favorite bodypart of a man"-poll, it would be for me by all means the one thing that women don't have. And my definition would look just like the one about the hands I prefer.
For anything else a woman would serve just the same purposes.

Having to choose just one thing makes it tough--I like a nice chest and broad shoulders, but also appreciate a nice butt. I'd have also said height is important at one time, but the man I'm seeing now is the same height I am--5'10''--and suddenly that doesn't seem to be all that big a deal.

In the end, like a lot of the other women here, I prefer the nerdy, smart guys. Brains are sexy. The qualities that are most attractive are the personality and character of the man more than anything else. Finding a man to be physically attractive doesn't mean you'd want to jump in bed with him. I'd boff a sweet, sensitive, nerdy, short guy who got into my head much more readily than a tall Adonis.

In favor of not being one more person to say "You did this poll WRONG - fix it by [fill in the blank]," I voted eyes. (Heterosexual female, btw.) Maybe it's naive of me to think so, but I believe that a lot can be learned about a person simply by looking into his or her eyes. It's borderline freaky (what with the whole communicating-with-strangers-without-words bit), and I don't always like what I see, but a pair of kind/intelligent/laughing eyes can turn even the homeliest guy into hotness.

"Lips" wasn't an option, but it's pretty much a tie between lips and eyes (sounds painful, eh? ) for me. Apparently I read lips as often as I read eyes.

Runner-up would be hands (also not a poll option). Baby-soft male hands are just...ych. Strong and slim are nice, but absence thereof wouldn't be a deal-breaker. (Deal? Ha ha ha ha ha! *Wipes away tears* Ahem.)

And what's with the short chicas takin' all the tall guys?! Apparently, a couple of inches taller than me is too much to expect from a guy - and I'm no giant. What are the actual tall girls to do when all of the tall guys have been taken by Lilliputians? (I jest! I jest!)

It's been only one day of polling, so it's a bit early to reach conclussions, but unless things change a lot, with 28 votes from women and 5 from homo men, well, one thing is certain: you guys did remarkably well!

Just a couple of indications: guys "predicted" that "face" will win with 38% of the vote. It's winning and getting 36% among women right now. Almost perfect. You also guessed correctly the second and third, although in reverse order, "other" and "eyes" (guys said 26% and 14%, and it's getting 18% and 25%, respectively). Many women are mentioning "height" as the category of choice inside "other", and this was also repeatedly mentioned in the other thread. I should have included this, and also "hands", clearly.

For the math nerds out there, my percentages are re-calculated on the people that selected one of the characteristics, ignoring other options. I'll post the definitive results in a couple of days.

We are not getting many responses from homo guys, but they seem to follow a similar trend. "Face" is winning. Are women's and gay men's tastes comparable, anyway? They may be different.

I am really impressed. I expected this to be much more off base. Who says men don't understand women? Maybe we are not just a bunch of geeks here in IIDB, after all.
