Default Who feels that abortion is not bad?

If the Eastern religions oppose abortion as well as the Abrahamics, which group actually believes that abortion is good? Is it only the atheists?

Which group actually believes that forcing women to risk their lives and health undergoing pregnancy and labor is good? Is it only the fundamentalist theists?

On a less loaded note, I think abortion is the lesser of two evils. The greater of the two evils is in the above paragraph. I am not pro-abortion; I am pro-choice.

I think the group you're looking for is "reasonable people".

Quite right, am in full agreement with this.

Abortion can be the best or necessary option without ever being "good" in the sense that anybody gets any pleasure for it. And women are often put in a situation where abortion becomes an option thanks to the wilful ignorance and lies spread by theists regarding sex education and contraception.

Far more religionists believe abortion is good than do people who share my personal atheistic philosophy.

Hold it.

Nobody thinks that abortion is good, as in "it's a joy to have an abortion". Many, however, both religious and non-religious, recognize that it is important to allow a woman the right to have one.

I understand that Judaism places the health of the woman above the survival of the fetus (as opposed to the Catholics, who place the survival of the fetus above the woman's life.)

Good, as in always good for everyone? Sometimes better than the alternative for some? If abortion is always bad according to religion, how come god allowed forced abortions on women? Religion also states that murder is bad, yet god himself murdered plenty of people and also killed animals. Is this a case of "do as I say, not as I do?" Religion also states it's wrong to lie, yet the Genesis creation story is, if it is the absolute word of god, a pack of lies. Why?

The Bible itself is pro-abortion.

So, the only Christians who can claim that it's "against their religion" are:

1. Catholics (because the Pope says so).

2. Some "liberal" Christians (because they don't have to follow the Bible).

3. The theologically ignorant (fundies).

I know of no religion that actively promotes abortion as a good thing.

However, as people have pointed out, many religions - along with many people who have no religion - believe that it is often the "lesser evil", and therefore often the morally correct thing to do/allow.
