I agree - body transplant. However, it seems it might some day be possible for a transplant of part of some other brain. What do you think? That might offer some interesting possibilities.

It's also a possibility that at some point we will simply be able to upload skills to our brains matrix style. ("I know tae kwon do")

first of all. the 'you' dun exist primarily. 'you' is a concept that comes because of the physical brain. the brain is primary. therefore, when the brain is transplanted to a new body, the brain is the thing that lives on. When the body and the new brain wakes up, the brain should realize that it is still alive with its skills and knowledge remaining. Therefore, it is the brain that survives primarily, not 'you' , 'me' this conceptual stuff. This 'you' and 'me' are essentially just the brain.

Look, my brain is talking now.

well, its possible when we have the ability to download information into our brain in the form of converting digital information to real and new cells, muscles, bones and strengtened body. You cannot execute the moves well if u just have the memory part but do not have the physical part.

Yes. But your brain is influenced by things going on in your body too. To take a very crude & simple example, say your brain happens to be transplanted into a body that is or becomes hypothyroid, that is, low in thyroid hormone. It then slows down, along with all other organs there to the point that it or "you" may become psychotic. (This of course can happen without a transplant, if your hypothyroid state is not diagnosed till too late, it may present as a psychosis, though these days that would be MOST unusualwhere Western medicine is practiced & widely available).

The point is that at present we do not yet know all the more delicate & fine tuned mutual adjustments of the brain/rest-of-body loops. Faults in these may well be the cause of some "mental" symptoms, anomalies or diseases.

These statements seem to be contradictory...This is the point (question) I was trying to make. Technical knowledge and motor skills are two different things. If my brain were transplanted into another body I would have to reaquire the skills necessary to type or play a piano. At least I assume this would be the case. Even if my brain were to retain some of the motor skills necessary, I would still need to accomidate for different size/shaped hands.
