Because it's a pain in the ass to be short.

Can't reach the top shelves on bookcases or cabinets. Can't change lightbulbs. All of your pants have to be hemmed.

It's just very, very irritating.

Now, I can't do anything about the pants, but I did find a solution for the rest. Marry a tall guy and have kids. Make THEM reach the cabinets and change the lightbulbs.

Creative problem solving.

Nah. Kids grow up faster than imaginable. Just yesterday I was changing diapers and now I'm trying to decide if I'm hoping that my eldest will pass or fail his driver's learner permit test.

I don't know that I'm ready to teach him to drive a car. I know how he drives a shopping cart...

Interesting. I just read an article about short men who want to be taller.
I'm going from memory on this statistic but the article reported that 98% of women marry men taller than them. Now, if you're a guy whose 5' 3" you're in a world of hurt.
Also given equal qualifications the taller guy usually gets the job. I wish I had the article in front of me so I could tell you more, but suffice it to say that short men have it tough.

Some people try to hide their baldness!!

Yes there is. By breaking both legs and inserting screws attached to taut wires a man can be heightened by up to three inches. It's an extremely painful procedure that leaves the patient in a wheelchair for up to 9 months. Every day the man has to turn the screws just a little bit to stretch the bones. Not just ouch but, "OWWWWWFUUUUUCKKKK!"
While three inches may not sound like a lot, going from 5' 4" to 5' 7" is a big deal.

Why NOT simply accept that as a part of who you are!! You have NO CHOICE to do so, since there's nothing you CAN do to alter it!!!
If you couldn't get laid or get a good job I don't think you'd stand idly by if there was something that could be done to change it.
