Precisely. Well, not precisely, since the remark was ironic.
Y'see, young Padawan: 1. Christians have a long history of stereotyping Jews as uncharitable, greedy and obsessed with usury and contracts 2. The God implied by Mr. Crouch's actions appears uncharitable, greedy and obsessed with usury and contracts 3. Jesus was charitable, generous, and used His kung-fu grip on moneylenders 4. Mr. Crouch worships Jesus 5. Jesus was a Jew Combine pretty much any three or more of the above statements, and I'm sure the irony will become apparent. |
