It's a quotation actually, from a guy called Bill Hicks (RIP) who was one of the greatest comedians of the past couple of decades. It's part of an extended riff on The War on Drugs, but struck me as relevant to the original thread, as it's as equally an unsupportable suggestion as claiming we have souls, as well as a counter to this suggestion, being an altogether more humane and moral idea than having a soul; if we are/act as if we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, then that which imposes barriers and encourages hostilities between ourselves is a form of self-harm.
