Vernad Eller in his book War and Peace: From Genesis to Revelation (or via: amazon.co.uk) has an intteresting POV that the New Testament writers really didn't care if a particular OT verse was directly refering to Yeshua. The fact that Yeshua appeared in the flesh to these New Testament writers transcended everything else. I agree with this writer 100%. Here is a brief quote.
