Default please explain

g'day everyone, i would just like to ask all of those religious people out there what, and who is god? can u please explain ur definition of god and the powers it holds. and also add why do u believe in god? weather u think that the god u believe in is the same god another religion believes in.
please clear these things up for me because its very hard to argue a point when one person says that good is one thing then another person says god is almost that thing but not quite so powerful.
thanks cheers

You may have a problem getting an answer to that question, as there is an awfully big list of Gods out there.

If you can understand the difference between knowledge and meaning, you already know the answer to your question as God is a place saver for all that is meaningful. For example carnal knowledge is litterally knowledge. Making love is meaningful. -- Cheers, Albert Cipriani the Traditional Catholic

Welcome.

It's nice to have someone asking these questions. Don't expect definitive answers. Weigh carefully those you receive. Ask more questions. Think about the answers. Keep coming back.

Default God : The First Cause, The Eternal Creator

Here are a few answers:

- God is The Creator and Sustainer of the universe.

- He is The Eternal Necessary Being who created all what exists in this universe.

- God has unlimited power.

- Belief in God is a logical position to take.

All what surrounds us has a reason. Cause and Effect is the main law of our universe. Logically-speaking, there must be a First Cause, and that First Cause is God.

There is to Him no equivalent.

Out of curiousity, why do you believe in God? Do you have any evidence for Her existence?

Evidence? The world as we understand it does just fine without needing an invisible sky entity to constantly maintain it.

Again, evidence?

Please demonstrate these points without resorting to arguments from ignorance or special pleading.

Yes.

There is plenty of evidence:

God's existence can be known through reason and logic:

Cordoba, that's not evidence. That's opinion based on other opinions. Far from evidence. If it ads up in your mind then fine, enjoy. But for many of us it contradicts what we know to be established truths proven over time by constant repetitive duplication.

Science has continued to show all religions without ANY evidence. Belief does not make evidence, as I'm sure all will agree. Seeing only what we want to see does not consitute evidence either.

There will come a time in the not so distant future when humans (if we don't ruin the chance for long term survival over petty resource and religion wars) will look at these days of humanity with great amusment and disbelief. Kind of the same way we look back on how people lived without electricity, books or indoor plumbing.

The gods will only exist in history books.

Well, I want ten minutes of my life back. I checked out that site just to see if there was anything approaching evidence there and there wasn't. Just tired old arguments with the word 'Bible' replaced with 'Qur'an' The age old watchmaker analogy, the 'blind chance' argument, nothing new under the sun. If Cordoba would care to present real evidence I'll take a look. I'm not going to hold my breath though.
