Exclamation Somethin' Pretty Crazy...

Hey,

In case you guys haven't read my earlier posts, my name is Leslie A. Zukor, and I am the Founder of the Reed College Freethinkers, a Portland-area atheist, agnostic, humanist, and separation of church and state activist group.

I thought it would be kind of different to have a conservative/Republican freethinker to come to my school, so I posted on freerepublic, and asked if anyone had any suggestions. They trashed me and banned me for trolling!

You can view the thread here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1505122/posts

Since I am now banned, would any of you post to the site for me? I mean, it would be interesting to see what they'd say if others were to defend me.

Also, if anyone knows of any conservative/Republican freethinkers, please let me know.

Leslie

So--can we not discuss other threads here?

Threads about other boards are moved into this forum where you can talk about them all you like. If there is a specific thread on this forum you'd like to discuss, then there is the Problems and Complaints forum or the Conference Room. If it's just a specific topic, like say, you want to explore a topic in a different angle, feel free to start anothe thread.

Leslie, you appear to actually be a spammer. You posted on Freethought Forum without responding to your own thread there, and now here.

Can you address this appearance of spamming and put our minds at ease?

Sorry that I am slow on the replies. I just travelled from Seattle back home to Portland, so I am exhausted. In the future, I will try to respond more quickly. I don't know what else I need to say on this topic, if nobody's responding to me. :notworthy

Conservative/Republican freethinkers are relatively rare. Even rarer would be one who would be willing to speak at Reed College!!

How does the saying go: "Reed put the "liberal" in liberal arts"?

Have you tried asking at a US Atheists meeting? There's a slim chance they might know of one.

Yeah, steer clear of lions dens. You won't find many activist freepers.

Judging by frikativ54's other posts in PA&SA, I'm pretty sure that Leslie is not a spammer. I used to post the same OP on more than one message board, in order to reach as many atheists as I could with my messages.

Freethought Forum is a great social community, but it's never been activist-oriented. I haven't seen the thread you're referring to, LadyShea, but I'm not surprised that an activism-related thread about a real-world group is not getting many replies or interest at FF. Such threads hardly garner any interest here on IIDB, and we have an entire forum devoted to activism. How do you think my activism and events threads would fly at FF? Think I can I get the gang all riled up for the November 11 Atheists In Foxholes rally in DC? You've seen how excited all the Infidels here are about this event!

Cyberspace aside, let's get to the good stuff. (Haha! I'm going to derail an ~E~ thread with activism material!):

I would say, abandon the topic of the goings-on at the other websites, and make more (new) threads here on IIDB in PA&SA about your group and your work. I've been enjoying reading your posts. Activism such as yours is encouraging. Don't waste time down here in ~Elsewhere~, feel free to continue posting about your group in PA&SA.
