Default Did Falwell Really Say That Jews Could Go to Heaven?

I know I should consider the source, but I just recently heard Ann Coulter quote Jerry Falwell as implying that Jews could still go to heaven without accepting Christ PROVIDED they fulfilled all the OT commandments. Now, if he did say that, then I imagine he did so only to show the "impossiblity" of a person being able to get there without Jesus' help, but that was not the way in which she portrayed it. I also realize that she may have been deliberately misinterpreting his comments as a way of getting herself out of the mess she finds herself in after she recently spilled the beans (rightly I think) in implying that Jews could only be "perfected" by becomig Christians. That is, after all, the lunatic doctrine of Christianity, although it is no longer polite to say so in the mass media.

But actually I'm much more interested in whether or not Falwell might have made such a statement and whether he really meant that Jews could get to heaven without Christ. I personally can't imagine him teaching such a thing, but then, with these people, who knows what to think?

No, never trust Ann Coulter as the concept of fact-checking is foreign to her. There was a report in The Jerusalem Post awhile a go claiming that Falwell accepted Two-Covenant Theology (the belief that Jews go to heaven), however Falwell swiftly issued a statement denying it.

Granted, Two-Covenant Theology is somewhat popular in American Evangelical circles these days now that it is politically incorrect to hate the Jews and are believed to play a necessary role in bringing about the much wanted apocalypse.

And I agree about Ann Coulter.
