Red face Hope I can keep my big mouth shut at xmas

Me and my partner of ten years are having xmas eve feast with his brother and his family and other friends. Problem is, I heard the new wife of one couple is quite religious. I'm sure at one point someone will probably bring up jesus as the reason for the season.

Yikes! I hope I can keep my big mouth shut if someone says anything like that. Normally I say blast away, but my other half would be very upset if I ruin the night by getting everyone all in a stew.

But once the liquor starts flowing............. :devil3:

Good luck. Probably a good time to just let it slide, given how little can be accomplished by arguing with people about it.

I say open your big mouth. You have as much of a right to disagree with them as they do in spewing the notion that Jebus is the reason for the season. If they do just politely remind them that Christmas co-opted traditional pagan ceremonies celebrating the winter solstice.

Default well I did it

Our xmas eve dinner went off without a hitch.

I kept my big mouth shut and no one really said much of anything that hinted of religion other than a prayer before we ate. We just all held hands and I went along with it.

Ah, peace. Isn't that what we all want anyway?

My christian friends are all very liberal at this point so my fundie connections are pretty much gone.

Happy xmas to all infidels! Enjoy your time with loved ones and friends.
