You Are Going To Hell!
I don’t know why I get this feeling, but when a Christian says “you are going to hell? I hear “I wish you were dead and I would do it if I know I wouldn’t get caught? |

Every once in a while I think about Hell and how much it would suck. Then I go back to masturbating or watching TV.

I thought you were telling me that I was going to Hell. Hell, I've never been to Michigan and wasn't planning to.

Personally, when it has occurred, I have perceived it as nothing more than an exclaimation out of frustration. Much like an atheist getting irritated and saying "You are an idiot for believing in God" may be heard by a Christian as "I wish you were dead and I would do it if I knew I wouldn't get caught". Most of the time, when I have extensively pressed Christians on the issue, they nearly always avoid making such a claim. Judge not, etc. |

In my life I've probably heard a couple dozen Christians say someone else was going to Hell, most were in the Southern Baptist church of my youth. I heard one say everyone that wasn't Southern Baptist was going to hell. She is one of the primary reasons for me moving away from Christianity. I've only had a couple individual Christians actually tell me I'm going to Hell for not believing or for blasphemy.
There have been a few others that asked me if I cared that I was going to Hell. No, I can't say that I do. Thank you for your concern. Warren |

If a Christian tells you you are going to Hell as a pejorative, then they are No True Scotsman.

However, I have met a Christian who smiled with glee talking about how non-believers will burn forever. He is crazy for other reasons and has used his Christian views to further his craziness. He probably feels superior that he is one of God's people and that injustices done to him in this life will be dealt with in the afterlife. Of course, that's just my interpretation. Boomeister |

Personally I would completely dismiss anyone telling me I was going to hell as someone who simply has issues.
Of course I have faithful friends and relatives who jokingly tell me I am going to hell all of the time for my views on organized religions. My boss tells me I am going to hell because I have a devil fish amonst all of the other fish symbols on the back of my truck. |
