Totally without relevance?? Jeepers! My point, beyond the ridiculousness of the Genesis story, is that a positive result comes out of the oldsters bumpin' uglies -- thus, a scriptural reference for geriatric sex. As far as I can tell, there isn't an aspect of abhorrence in the text toward the intercourse -- in fact, it's God urging Abraham to attempt it, and promising him that he will be rewarded. (Of course, it's sex for procreation, so that does skirt past your question about sex for the elderly as recreation or love.)
