| Updating Wiki Page on Jesus Myth

Apaprently a couple of scholarly-ethically-challenged apologists posted a load of manure on the Jesus Myth page at Wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus-Myth I did some updating but cannot devote a lot of time to it today. Stop by and lend a hand if you feel motivated. Vorkosigan |

They've got Freke & Gandy and Archay S. in there along with Doherty and Price. That needs to be fixed.

I personally don't think much about inerrantists and creationists - should I "fix" any articles on Christianity that refer to those guys?

Need more references and rewriting, but I can't get back to it for a while, I don't think. Vorkosigan

I'm not very familiar with Freke and Gandy's work, so I can't comment on that. However, Acharya S is a totally different story, and she's a big embarrassment to Jesus mythicism. She gets into lots of flaky, unsupportable theories, and she spouts lots of anti-Xian vitriol. Her book title "The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold" ought to give you an idea of her approach. By comparison, Earl Doherty is much more reasonable, and much less vitriolic. |

Our ethically challenged friends are back at the page. Progress! At least they didn't post any obvious smears, like that crack about Marxism

I see the Acharya S reference has disappeared. I'll have to put it back in tomorrow. Vorkosigan |

The whole first two paragraphs under "Arguments against the Jesus Myth" should definitely be removed, or put under a different heading, because they are not Arguments Against the Jesus Myth. While I agree with what was written, it simply makes the article seem less balanced and serves only to discredit the whole section against the myth theory.
