Often the leaves can be fairly potent. Especially ones near the buds that have grown resin crystals. They still don't taste as good as bud tho, which is also a huge consideration.

I guess the trick is to make sure that the female plants are not pollinated by the male plants. The females will use its energy making the potent flowers that you dry and smoke rather than making seeds.

Thanks all,
The buds've been hanging upside down for a few days. Theyre dry enough to smoke but they still need to go through the curing process. I cut the buds off all the branches and placed the buds in Mason jars. We didnt pack the buds in, but we put in a few buds with room to spare for air circulation. As I understand it, light will kill the THC. This part in the curing process can take from 2 to 4 weeks and the buds must be in a cool dark place. There are a few local methods for this part in the process, from paper bags to a newspaper and bud sandwich with bricks on top. The reason I like Mason jars is that the resin wont stick to the glass and Mason jars come in a box. Good enough for me! The buds are left in the jars and must be opened for 2 hrs per day where the buds are gently turned to reposition them and let the air get at them to release the chlorophyll the buds produce in the jar. This is important to open them to prevent mold. The fresh-cut grass smell I get a whiff of when I open the jars each day is what can lead to mold and a spoiled stash. Buds that are packed into the jars can get mold because the chlorophyll will build up where the air does not circulate. Now that the buds have been in the jars for a week I can see they are really starting to crystallize. Ill take a whiff before I close them up just to be sure the smell is back to that light sweet smell we all know and love. The buds will be cured when the stem will snap and not just bend. Qwiz |

Hello all,
This is a clip from Rick Mercer’s Monday Report, a prime time comedy news program. Canada’s most celebrated writer Pierre Berton, who has been smoking since the ‘60s gives this short instructional video on his rolling technique. Pierre past away recently and I thought I would share this with you. People who smoked knew but this was a tough one to take for many non-toking Canadians. How to roll a joint Enjoy, Qwiz |
