O.K., participants, I am relatively ignorant of all of this. Could you please be more specific about what is wrong with Pastor Mark's sources and how we know they're wrong? Thank you.

Why don't you read them and then read Finkelstein and then decide. That is how you check stuff out. By the way, I am going to read Finkelstein, as well.
This moved to an Old Testament discussion, but I encourage you to consider the question of New Testament authorship, as well. Go ahead and read the atheist authors and the Christian authors. Cheers, Mark |

I'm about a third of the way through Finkelstein and finding it very interesting, and pretty easy to follow the logic of. And I'm about as 'lay' a person as you can get in these matters.
