In the case of fossils we do however know quite well what is fossil and what not.
Only by comparison with other fossils.

Default forgery in literature; forgery in fossils

We have literary remains.
Literature can be forged.
Very easily "at the top".

I have never yet seen
a fabricated fossil ....
but then again ........

You've never seen John Howard? What about G.W. Bush?. Bert Newman is another.

Sure he would be recognized. He'd be the one hanging from a tree, or cross.
If you landed a bit early, he'd be the one that's pissed. It is said he used to drink with drunkards. :devil3:
Maybe that's why he cursed out that fig tree for not bearing fruit out of season.

In case no-one has noticed it, the "maybe"s are in the lead. After all this stuff about historical and mythical Jesuses, healthy skepticism leads the way.

If a margin of error is applied, then the "No" and "Maybe" seem to be in a dead heat. However "Yes" appears to be the most unreasonable position.

Erm is this even a relevent poll given the forum we are on, the majority on here are skeptics or athiests or both, you would get a totally different result on a christian forum, and a different one again if you had a slice of people from everyday life.

The only surprising thing is the amount of yes's and maybe's which is more than I expected given the group of people we are polling.

Being an atheist does not mean that you believe that Jesus never existed. It means that you think God does not exist. Atheists and agnostics who study the New Testament professionally are actually very likely to believe that Jesus existed, but not the same Jesus as seen in the New Testament, where myths have tainted the original character.
