So Isaiah managed to predict Cyrus by name. How much of a feat was that?

I literally know very little about this, so I'd like some of the skeptics opinions on it.

From what I recall of my errant years of Bible study, Cyrus is �predicted� in what scholars call Second Isaiah, which was added to the text long after the original was written, and after Cyrus had come to power. So it appears to be another miraculous after-the-fact prediction, just like almost all Bible prophecy.

(I�m sure this thread is going to be miraculously transported to BC&H, just as the Bible predicted.)

Got any evidence that the prophecy in Isaiah was added after the fact, or is this just another stupid atheist attempt to reject God and the Bible?

The usual methods that scholars use: exegesis, writing style, historical context, subject matter, the fact that it was written during the Babylonian exile, long after first Isaiah.

(Since when did name calling become an apologetic tactic? Very un-Christian of you, Magus.)

A number of psychics claimed to have predicted the 9-11 disaster. None of them can offer any proof that they predicted this in advance. However, we can't prove that they didn't predict it in advance so I guess by the Magus standard we should just take their word for it. Their powers are for real! Call James Randi at once.
