Aurora Elegance,
One thing - Eastern Religions are less likely to coerce you into believing in them with horrific scenes of Hell or Seductive sensuous Heaven. They don't threaten you with death unless you do exactly what they dictate like the Mafia does. Nor do they Bribe you with temptations of a easy life 'elsewhere'. They are a bit selfish you can say. You follow them for your OWN good. NOT for GOD's sake. They are not about being a toy of some all powerful God who judges you. They are not Exclusivist and do not maintain that there is NO 'salvation' (there is no such word) outside of their religions. Truth is a Pathless Land One can approach it from anyside and from every side. |

i think the better term is "middle eastern" or rather "abrahamic" religions" (see forum name) versus more "spiritualist" religions. some of the western religions (e.g. asathru, greek pantheism and so on) were very much like the eastern spiritualist religions.
