You didn`t answer the question. What is wrong with letting people get into heaven, but not forcing them to worship god?

Because, quite frankly, God has an ego problem.

It isn't enough to be omnipotent, you know. God has to have a bunch of His creations constantly reminding Him of how really, really fantastic He is, or He just isn't satisfied with being the Almighty.

Its actually rather pathetic. I mean, here's a being who supposedly created EVERYTHING, but at the same time can't stand to be around people who don't worship Him unconditionally.

Kind of ironic that a Supreme Being would have an inferiority complex, don't you think?

LOL. Seems to me that god might be jealous. Or maybe he is just pissed off about not having figured out what omnipotence can do after all these centuries.

Magus,

I keep asking you for many posts now to stop using "...He...", "...Him..." when these are not corresponding to any real creature.

Before you use them, ensure first -without using any religion- that "...God...", "...He...", "...Him..." exist in reality.

After you establish first -without using any religion- that "...God..." exists, then you can start talking about this established "...God...".

Right now, you talk about "...God..." while God's existence is unproved, so you talk about an inexistent creature.

That's imbecility.

Oh, I can hear the disclaimer right now...

"Godviagra is not for everyone. If you are allergic to iron chariots, complications may arise. Do not take if you are currently omnipotent, as hyper-omnipotency may occur. If you experience an erection lasting longer than 400 million years, see your doctor right away."

No:

whether or not the Easter myth has a historical basis is same as whether or not Easter exists empirically.

History is entirely based on science to assert what reality was in the past.

Myths are not based on science.
"...the myth can exist without the truth of the myth existing..." culturally speaking only, because the myth confuses reality and imagination when describing the past, so the myth doesn't know what historical reality was in the past.

As for Jung -the psychologist brought up by Magdlyn above-, psychology is not science.

Phsysics, mathematics and chemistry are science.

Actually my son (14) came up with an interesting theory concerning this:

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.....
Plus the demand for the deaths of those who followed other gods.
Perhaps there are many gods. And the gods gain power as the number of people worship them. Thus the need for him to have our worship and his need to ensure that no other god gets worship. (His was a tounge in cheek theory from reading the Bible and the Reading of other god mythologys)

Woot!! Cool sounding game. I have been trying to break my on-line game addiction, but you tempt me.

And aye, exactly like that.
