Which is heavier: a pound of feathers or a pound of bricks?

I suppose the eternal question is whether matter and energy were always there or they were caused.

For someone to believe they were caused (by someone a diety or a prime mover) there's no conclusive evidence.

For those who believe elements of the physical universe were always there, there is conclusive evidence.

Can we say it's rational to choose either way. While the deity is my own choice I've never seen the tooth fairy (though when I was young she left some coins under my pillow) or heard voices from God.
