Old Catholic custom, they are called castrati (single is a castrato). And you thought that it was so gross that it just had to be a joke

Look at it this way--------You get one shot at life. So have one hell of a time as long as you can.

You will assuredly get old and contrite someday (if for no other reason than that you just can't really do it anymore) ---all things come to an end, even in this lifetime.

If you are a Christian you can always ask for forgiveness and go to Heaven.

If you are an atheist---------well ---all your miscreant memories will be lost, but you had a good time anyway while it was happening right?

So both atheist and theist -----Do it while you can.

William Bennett, author of The Book of Virtues and other guides to Christian morality, admitted he gambled away $6 million dollars. Yes that's $6,000,000.00. But he had not included it as a sin in his books, and he said it was ok because he "could afford it".

Yup.

Phil Gramm financed a porn movie. I could add more examples, but my fingers aren't strong enough to enumerate all the examples of hypocritical bible thumping politicians.

A Personal experience:
I went to a man's office when my friend was doing some programming work for this man's small business. The man had on a polo shirt with the words "Promise Keepers" embroidered on it. I assume he had been to a Promise Keepers rally. They are a very conservative Christian men's group that has held large rallies before.

I sat in his office and there was a TV set in there, and the man watched it some times. He was working with my friend, who was explaining some stuff to him.

On the cart under the TV set there were videotape boxes. One of the videotape boxes said "Black White Anal BLACK WHITE ANAL". And it had pictures of scantily clad people on it.

I said nothing. Later I left and when I came back, it was gone.
I still didn't say anything, I just thought, "Another damn hypocrite".

I was preptty disgusted, though.

Look at it this way Opera Nut.------

We Christians are forgiven for every damned thing we do in our lifetime as long as we are repentent.

So-------all that means is -- we can live life to the fullest. Isn't that what life is all about?

And in that way how are we any different from atheists?

Of course atheists go on to non-existance which after all makes the best sense to them ---

And Christians (or at least some of them) go on to Heaven and eternal paradise--------which after all makes the best sense to them.

And everyone lives or dies either happily eternally in paradise or happily in their non-existance ever after and forever more.

So who gives a crap anyway? All end up happy within their expectations.

So the whole thing is a wash----N'est-ce pas?

So All christias are forgiven? Hitler (a devout Catholic; http://www.ffrf.org/pennstation/hitler.html) responsible for the murder of millions, can get into Heaven if he asked for forgivness; But I (an athiest) who lives a good life and harmed no-one am doomed to Hell? That is YOUR belief?

Please explain why your GAWD would think this as rational.

Also, please tell me which Christians do not get into Heaven?

I would grant a special dispensation into Hell for both Hitler and Stalin and (what the hell) throw in Mao too. ---Maybe Attilla the hun and a few others. ---How about Pol Pot?

I think God is just in his specific injustness. And great in his specific justness.---for all those turds of history.

And very grand in His grace for all of us ding-a-lings who just did the best we could ---today and throughout history.

When you think about it. ---------How could you be God if you
could not be the boss of the universe and change your mind any time you damned like felt like it?

The idea of Godly perfection with no dissimulation is a very human notion. What does that have to do with God?

God does not have to be the God of our rational choosing you know.

(Starting to sound like Amos on this one. It is your duty to try and understand.)

So if Hitler does repent and still goes to Hell, doesn't that negate your origional statement that all people that repent go to Heaven? What other "special dispensation" do you have (knowing all things that God will do)?
Also, If God knows all past, present and future; why would he need to change His mind?

"God works in mysterious ways"

Which means that Hitler and Stalin and Pol Pot and Attila the Hun and a whole bunch of others are probably going straight to Hell.

I have no problem with God dissimulating. God can do anything. Or He could not be God.

Point is ---------Us goody two shoes (at least for the most part) are going to heaven. And all the"bad guys" are going to hell ---assuming there is any kind of hell besides non-existence---

But look at it this way---you and me, average Joe Blows who have lived a somewhat moral life, are going to heaven----

And we will not encounter there as Christians ---72 virgins (who would be rather pitiful lays--what a rip off !!!) but uncountable very horny and very experienced 35 year old women---------

===A lifetime in paradise.

(Well to be honest there probably is also some intellectual discovery to be made in Heaven.)

I have many problems here.

1. You say those who live a moral life are saved. Before you said those who repent are saved. Which is it? It can't be both.

2. Bad guys going to Hell. What if you find out God thought Hitler was doing His work? Would you embrace the idea that 5 million+ Jews died for a good cause? I can't

3. "God works in mysterioud ways" is basically a pat answer that Christians give when logic goes out the window. You can't come up with a good answer; so you use the "Oh well" and shrug your sholders excuse.

In closing, I find the Average descripttion of the Christian God reprehensible. Mass murder, rape, incest, child abuse, etc, CANNOT be excused. If there is an afterlife (which I doubt), I would rater be in Hell than at the side of God. At least in Hell, you have a clear consience.

Actually the way it works is that -------those who have lived a moral life are saved and that those that have lived a not so moral life are also saved as long as they repent.---

And those who lived an absolutely terrible life and were responsible for the innocent deaths of millions of people (upchuck time here) go straight to hell (or at least a non-existent hell)----

---Somehow did you miss the part about me mentioning God can do anything, even dissimulate, or He could not be God?

Awful sorry you missed that part.
