Thanks. That was quite an informative & non-polemical article.

So it was the 3rd Council Of Carthage (397 CE) & not the Council of Nicea. Constantine had been long dead by then; but the Church was clearly interested in organizing and formalizing its orthodoxy by then.

Interesting stuff.

On a personal level, it only confirms what a flawed & human process this whole thing was & is. No sign of any Holy interference or influence here. It's no wonder they don't teach this stuff in Sunday School. :Cheeky:
