like any other anointing - it separates a person for a particular work and in this case - as part of the separation - the ability to consecrate the Eucharist is conferred on the recipient.

So what, exactly, is a priest, in the Christian faith?
A priest is a minister who is set apart to administer the sacraments most especially the Eucharist.
Quote:
I thought the word "priest" was derived from the Greek presbuteros, which is usually translated "elder." There is no mention of Christian priests in scripture, except those passages that refer to the priesthood of all believers, unless one wishes to translate presbuteros as "priest" instead of "elder."
Trouble is - there are separate offices of Priest and elder in the OT and the OT is just a foreshadowing of the new.
Quote:
So on what basis do you say a woman can be an elder, but not a priest?
Because elders govern. They do not administer the sacraments.

ANd this post is a perfect example of something that might earn a member a contact but would never earn a staff member one.

MIND - I like her so I'm not doing this in malice - just to show how low the standards staff are held to are.

SOMETHING TO PONDER - who did Jelly Belly find to taste test for the Booger flavored Jelly beans they make?

Think about it - Taste a bean . . . . Taste a booger . . . compare. Repeat.

and you know no one has enough of their own boogers for the taste tests required for something like booger flavored jelly belly's . . . .

Max, dear (and I assume I can call you dear), are you really doing any good with all this? Is it edifying? Helpful?

so I go to church tonight against my will ( family thang..) and the chosen one is talking about how mankind has turned to much towards money and material things, he continues on that it is money that is the root of all things evil..NO MORE then two minutes later he talks about he fiscal issues of the church and the need for this and the need for that, not to mention that this joker lives in a nicer house then I do!!! ( and this year he gets a very nice raise)
what the hell!!! is this!!

one more reason I am happy that we have chosen to get married by a officiate...and chose to raise our yet to be made children non-denominational.

Has Letalis ever mentioned his real name in an open forum? If not, this counts as a violation of confidentiality. (silly, but true)
