I just found this video of the disgusting act of an American police officer.
Beating up on a kid for a skateboarding. http://www.thehundreds.com/wordpress/?p=1874 Just think he is paid with money stolen from pockets like yours. Reminds me of Edward Abbey's quote. Nothing can excel a few days in jail to give a young man or woman a quick education in the basis of modern society. |

police work attracts people with control issues. it's hard to have 100% filtering for these people without raising costs too much.

Too bad you don't get to see what happened BEFORE the cameras showed up. According to witnesses the kids on the skateboards were fucking with people on the sidewalk. It is a posted 'no skateboard zone'.
When the cops showed up to run the kids off the kids attacked an officer. A witness claimed that two of the kids had jumped on the officers back. I'd choke the little bastards too. I saw this on tv. The segment was about how people can post videos of shit on the internet before any type of investigation can be made causing people to jump to conclusions. There were a few other videos in the segment. Are you still outraged by these out of control pigs? |

I struggled to find some mainstream news on this.
It appears the cop has been cleared of any charges, but is to undergo counselling because he left a guy in handcuffs whilst chasing some other kid. against procedure apparently. I can't help thinking though that if indeed the area where these kids was skating was designated a 'no skate' area then theycould have avoided the whole thing by simply obeying the law and not skating there. |

Sometimes the officer overreacts to the situation but it's still not unprovoked. |

You can't form any conclusions based on one police officer. I don't understand the hate for them, really - as a general entity, I'm completely neutral about police.
If you can show that there's an epidemic of abusive police officers, or that the general standards for hiring & firing them are lax, then you'll have an argument. Until then, not really. |
