Sorry, Electro. I didn't mean to assume that your experience with God or Christians was negative or that a negative experience was behind your view of the existence of God.

You're right that I do feel passionate about God. He's given us a dynamic, life-giving book to read, and he's changed my life, given me peace, and helped me through the loss of friends and family members. But most significant is the forgiveness he's given me and the promise of ongoing life with him beyond the grave. What's wrong with wanting to share all that? I've never found any other philosophy that compares.

I will take your advice to read more postings before writing one myself. Truth is the bottom line. As a friend of mine says, "Nothing else will do."
