The history of the Jews has been one of dispersion and restoration, persecutions, genocidal attempts by gentiles Egypt, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome and the nations of Europe. But guess what the Jews have survived it all, why? because God made these promises:
Sorry but exactely what evidence is there that (1) god made these promises? (2) god was directly invloved in the creation and sustaining of ancient Isreal?
(3) how can you prove it was not other natural / human factors that were more directly responsible for the creation & sustaining of ancient Isreal and (4)that the texts are not only post-hoc explainations of history.

Quote:
Of course these things cant be done.... and neither can Israel be destroyed. "For behold, the days are coming says the Lord, that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah', says the Lord. 'And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave their fathers, and they shall posses it." Jeremiah 30. "Therefore behold the days are coming says the Lord, that they shall no longer say 'As the Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt', but 'As the Lord lives who brought up and lead the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I have driven them.' And they shall dwell in their own land.
Which rebirth of Isreal is this in reference?

Quote:
Yes the existance of the nation of Israel amidst a sea of blood thirsty anti- Israeli Gentile nations proves that God exists. Even now all nations seeks to uproot the Jews from that little land they hold to give it to the Arabs who seek nothing but their total demise....They will not susceed.
I take it you can in fact show that the Zionist movement was not supported by god and that some of the early plans to have a nation located somewhere other than Palestine did not occur. Also you can show that it was god that directed world leaders (Britian specifically) to create the modern state of Isreal.

To claim that god did it is one thing to demonstrate the direct causal link is quite another. But hey give it a try I am open to learn something new.

....do you have any idea how hateful that statement is? True Judaism is Judaism, not some some half-cooked mystery cult likely invented wholesale by the Romans.

There are certainly prophecies that were interpreted by later generations of Jews as messianic, but that is something else entirely.
I was going by what I thought that fundies believe. Don't fundies believe that Old Testament Jews believed that the messiah would be a genetic descendant of David?

Johnny God promised christians that they would recieve eternal life. But what do think will happen if a christain decides to live a life in rebellion against God? Do you think the promise would still stand? Israel did not get all the land God promised because of Disobedience. Obviously, you paid no attention to the scripture I showed you explaining why the Jews did not recieve the full promise but accused me of lying (and God too). God in Judges told the Jews that He would not drive out the nations around them because of their disobedience, how much more of an answer do you need? But Israel will in the end get all that they were promised...when they accept (and obey) the One whom they have rejected.

The promise of God will be fulfilled after Armergeddon, but dont take my word for it: "Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling to all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.....Behold the day of the Lord cometh, and your spoil shall be divided in the midst of you. For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when He fought in the day of battle. And His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east.....And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and His name one. All the land shall be turned as a plain from Ge'ba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate to the place of the first gate, to the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel to the king's winepresses." Zechariah.

"And I will bring again the captivity of My people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine there; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.--Amos

"Behold I will gather them out of all countries, where I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be My people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me.

Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul.

For thus says the Lord, Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have PROMISED them." Jeremiah 32. You get it now Johnny? If not...oh well:wave:

Cyrus also allowed the Jews to rebuild their state...but God was behind it. And even though Britian allowed the Jews to do the same the terms set by the Brits the Jews found them to be unfavorable...The Jews fought against the Brits as well as the Arabs for that land...Noone really gave them a thing...except for God ofcourse. jest2ask

But I thought Christians were the real nation of Israel? So shouldn't there be a Christian state in the Holy Land?
