Default Does gender play a role in the Death Penalty debate?

According to a study by the University College London, as reported in this article:

Quote:
...a new brain-scanning study suggests that when guys see a cheater get a mild electric shock, they don't feel his pain much at all. In fact, they rather enjoy it.

In contrast, women's brains showed they do empathize with the cheater's pain and don't get a kick out it.
Are there any polls that show what percentage of women are against the Death Penalty compared to men? Based on this study I'd guess more women are against the Death Penalty than men.

Liviu,

I've really no idea but here's one guy that doesn't agree with any kind of death penalty. Does that answer your question?

P.S. What were the backgrounds of the people in the study?

I don't agree with the Death Penalty

Mostly because I feel it's generally insufficient punishment

Where would you place that?

Apparently you have to subscribe to Gallup to access their polls on the death penalty, but I found info on some Gallup polls here saying that, at least between 2001 and 2004, women supported it less than men. There are graphs on other correlates of death penalty support/non-support as well.

The woman will have a lot less empathy if she feels like she's the aggrieved party.

Hell hath no fury, and all that.
