Tell us why would an omnipotent God need to express himself as 3 different people?

Why would God even need three persons in order to express himself? Multiple personality disorder? It just doesn't make any sense that a supposed omnipotent being feels the need to play such games.

And if three persons does not equal multiple divinities, then I suppose Hinduism is a monotheistic religion as well.

When you refer to the trinity as 'three distinct individuals', it does sound like polytheism.there were lots of ancient mythologies which included trinities of gods/divinities. Most of these were female trinities, though.

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one" Does this sound God is three persons in one?

Anyway, Heinlein said it best:

"Anyone who can worship a trinity and insist that his religion is a monotheism can believe anything."

DIVINE INSANITY
God killed himself on the cross to save his own creation from his own
wrath !
IF PEOPLE were to read the Bible from cover to cover without any preconceived idea of a Trinity, would they arrive at such a concept on their own? Not at all.

What comes through very clearly to an impartial reader is that God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, separate and distinct from anyone else, and that Jesus, even in his prehuman existence, is also separate and distinct, a created being, subordinate to God.

THE Bible’s use of “holy spirit? indicates that it is a controlled force that Jehovah God uses to accomplish a variety of his purposes. To a certain extent, it can be likened to electricity, a force that can be adapted to perform a great variety of operations.

There is a funny bit in the mostly terrible film "Nuns on the Run" in which the Catholic one of the two(Eric Idle ?) is trying to explain the concept of the Trinity to Robbie Coltrane who plays a non Catholic and it goes something like this
"My parish priest explained it this way look at a shamrock ,it has 3 leaves but it is still one leaf well the Trinity is just the same "
Later on when the Coltrane character is trying to explain the Trinty to a class he says
"The Trinity is like a shamrock............ it's small and green "

Much worse---as we've shamelessly beaten into the hallowed ground of late.

God raped a teenager in order to impregnate her with Himself that she might give birth to Himself in order that He might later kill Himself on the cross in order to save the rest of His own creation from His own wrath.

Is God three persons?
My vote: someone would have to convince me It is ANY persons, supernatural or otherwise...

The more interesting question is: why did those that invented the Trinity need 3 gods?

How does the Trinity tie in with the seven spirits of G-d mentioned repeatedly in Revelation? One commentary says that the seven spirits are the Holy Spirit. That means that seven are one, but since that one is one of the three that are one, we end up with nine that are one.

The trinity does not tie in with the seven spirits of God , because the bible does not teach a trinity. in the book of revelation ,Jesus identifys himself as the one who has the seven spirits, because these spirits represent Jehovahs holy spirit ( active force)flowing in its fullness.Later John describes them also as seven eyes indicating the penetrating vision that Gods holy spirit bestows on Jesus.

The trinity is refuted by the old testement Deutoronomy 6:4 " Hear O Israel The Lord our God, the Lord is one." Issiah 40:25 " To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal, says the Holy One" Issiah 43:10-11 "Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I even I am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior." Issiah 44:6 "I am the first and I am the last, apart from me there is no God." Issiah 44:24 " I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself"
