But were Africanus and Hippolytus Jews?

It is expected that Jesus apologists would claim that Daniel's prophecy of the Messiah coincided with Jesus of the NT.

We are looking for Jews of antiquity who had interpreted Daniel's prophecy the same as Jesus apologists.

To me, when we say "Jesus existed", it is just a convenient shortcut to say that the Gospels were not written in a vacuum; there was a preacher who had followers, that's why those texts were eventually written.

The assumption that there was one person who was a preacher is flawed since the SINGLE character called Jesus may have been a composite of MULTIPLE characters, real and imagined.

And the Gospels appear to have been written in a VACUUM, the authors are unknown, and did not acknowledge each other.
