I just managed to get hold of this series from the BBC which covers the period of the last Ice Age in North America including the arrival of man (around 15,000 years ago). I was really disappointed by the "Walking with..." series but this one more than makes up for it and shows how they could have got it right. Like that series the 6 episodes combine top notch computer graphics with commentary but unlike that series the level of detail and scientific accuracy is vastly improved. Each episode I've watched has been a fascinating and highly informative exploration of the ecology, climatic, geological and evolutionary changes that were occurring and it includes some lovely detailed forensic reconstructions of fossils and events. It goes for telling the story - not hyping it up. Well worth watching - I don't recall seeing it advertised when it came out so I can only assume it didn't do as well which is a pity as it's far superior.
