i am curious as to whether there exists any manuscript evidence from the dead sea scrolls which should support the mythical jesus theory that there was a community of first century jews who believed in a divine mediator figure, a purely spiritual figure, as described by doherty.

i am well aware of the essenes and dead sea scrolls speaking of a teacher of righteousness, how well does this correlate to mythical jesus hypothesis? do mythical jesus theorists think paul was writing his letter to a community of essenes-turned christians? |
