The Mall of America, yeah. It's very convenient to the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport. Having been there far too many times, I can't honestly say that it's anything more than a big mall. There is better and more interesting shopping elsewhere in the area. (Apologies to any MOA-ophiles out there. )

We're planning a meet-up in Minneapolis. tell us when you are going to be here and maybe we can all hang out!

There are lots of good book stores in Minneapolis. As mentioned, the two best american chain book stores, Barnes and Noble and Borders Books each have several locations in the city. If you are going to be near the Target Center, there is a Borders close by, in the so called 'E' block. (anyone will be able to direct you to it.

The Mall of America has only 2 book stores. (and no fewer than 4 Victoria's Secret stores (ladie's underwear) and 3 or four Gaps) Its depressing. It has one Barnes and Noble, and one wholesale overstock book liquidator. Don't go there.

My favorite bookstore in Minneapolis is called Mager's and Quinn. Its in the 'Uptown' region of the city, near the intersection of Hennepin and Lake street. Any taxi driver can take you to 'Hennepin and Lake.' or you can take the #6 bus from downtown. Its a large store with both new and used books.

There is also a large rare book store on the intersection of University Avenue and Snelling avenue. I've never been there, but it is likely to have rarer used books.

I usually shop also at the Barnes and Noble at HarMar in Roseville, but I've been to that Mager's and Quinn and was going to mention to check that out.

BTW, the Roseville Barnes and Noble is also on Snelling, about 3 miles (?) north of that bookstore on University.

I wish I had seen this before I left :banghead: Thanks anyway. I went to Reykjavik before going to Minneapolis, and didn't have internet access where I stayed, so I didn't see your reply, or the reply of "openeyes". I just got home, and I spent aprox. 400$ on books in Minneapolis at Barnes and Noble down town, and in Mall of America. (I am rather pleased with the catch actually, even though I have a feeling that I did not go to the best stores).

My wife and brother-in-law spent a lot of time at the new Target store, while I sat at a restaurant and read a chess book (I am not the type of guy that likes to shop at Target, Wall-Mart or anywhere they sell clothes). I am not sure if it was "Target Center" (there are at least two Tragets in Minneapolis, right?), but if so, I could have gone to Borders!

You can't swing a dead cat in Minneapolis without hitting a Target store. (The Target Center proper is a sports arena.)
