Wink Humor Me...

People at my school accuse me of being really self-absorbed. So - anyway - I need some help in being able to poke fun at myself, to dispel my conceited image (whether that image is deserved or not).

So - fire away. Descibe me in the most humorous, unflattering terms, that I could use, so that we can have a good all around laugh - at Reed and on the II.

Your username makes my cat throw up.

And who cares if you're self-absorbed? I wouldn't!

Wow, people at your school hit the nail on the head. Even when trying to address your self-absorption you compose a completely self-absorbed thread in which you, yet again, tell (not even ask) people to talk about you.

As far as I can tell from your posting here, you ARE self absorbed. You do whatever it takes to generate more posts about you.

IIDB users are supposed to help name your group, help you insult your advisor, go to a meetup with you on your birthday(!), buy your shirts, join in the bitchfest about Reed, kvetch about your harsh treatment at FF, at livejournal, etc., etc., etc. Enough already!

Up next: a new thread in which we talk about frikativ54?

Are you not a Member in Good Standing of the Cult of the Good Goddess of Frication? :devil3:

Why, I might ask you, does my screen-name make your your cat blow chunks?

Has he not mastered the Art of the Spirant?

So - what else would you like me to talk about? Are my posts on Humor, PD, and about L.D. and A.A.A. simply not enough? In addition to sharing my own activism, have I not supported that of others? Am I living the same II as you are?

And if I were so self-absorbed, I would NOT have posted this thread in Humor. The point, of course, was to make people laugh - not for you to laugh at me!

Oh, ok. You are NOT so self-absorbed. Posting a thread telling people to talk about you proves it. Once again, your critics are completely wrong.

I can't speak for all your posts, just the overwhelming majority that I've seen. Conclusion: you like people talking about you. You are your favorite topic.

Do you ever take criticism in stride, or do you always have an excuse why the criticism is wrong? Take your essay posted in PA&SA, where you restricted your critics' motivations to: ignorance of freethought, proclivity for nitpicking, argument for argument's sake, and *primarily* personal jealousy of you.

It must be frustrating to constantly deal with people who are wrong.

Anyway, I'm not laughing at you, and I'm not interested in a big flamewar. I just think, uh, maybe they have a point.

This thread seems to be degenerating into ~E~ material (not that it probably wouldn't have done anyway).

Off it goes.

I've got an idea for you.

Why don't you try posting for a week without using any first person pronouns. I think that could be rather enlightening for you.

No referring to yourself in the third person either.

So, okay, frikativ54 may have asked for unflattering terms, but I think a few of the responses may have gone past what she asked for into actual insults. Since I think that her OP may have been unclear, I'm not going to edit anyone, but I am going to close this thread because I don't want to see her further denigrated.
