Seebs, a few months back you made a post saying in effect.."Maybe CF is a lost cause." I was sorta shocked by that because you are usually so positive. More than me, to say the least.
I see that you don't think that way anymore, which is good.

BUT..you may have been correct. CF is a lost cause. Not that it's going to close down or turn into some Super Fundamentalist Hell Hole but that it will not ever be what we consider a 'good Christian site.' It can't, due to the nature of human beings.

The site can only be as good as the people that make it up and CF moderation is comprised of human beings that love, hate, hurt, comfort, attack, bring hope, lie and speak the truth.

Is there a link on CF where you got these stats? Where did you get this information? All I know is what I see - between 1,200 and 1,700 online at any given time. Right now it's at 1676 online.

Seebs, you have been bringing up one complaint after the next for years, practically on a daily basis. This is just another in a long string of your complaints about CF. CF will never be exactly as you want it. You need to accept that.

I know there's problems at CF. And even though I've been on the recieving end myself, it doesn't get me to the point of complaing on a regullar basis. It doesn't operate outside the norm of any other message board. I fully understand it and accept the reality of it. That's how it is in life. Nothing is perfect. Not even Christian message boards.

seebs, I like and respect you. My intentions here, (even if misguided), are of a helpful nature. That's all.

There definitely are NOT 121,190 CF members. 121190 is just the member number of the newest member.

I once tried to find out who the original members were, besides Erwin, and so I did a member search using a lot of random low member numbers. IIRC, there were very few below 500. IOW, there are many existing member numbers that are not being used. There are many member numbers below 121190 that have no profile at all and no posts at all.

I would say that a more accurate number of members could be estimated by taking the number of pages there are in the member list, and multiplying by the number of names per page. I think someone did that earlier today or yesterday, and it was only around 70,000. Not that that's a small number, but it indicates that nearly half the used-up member numbers are void.

Edit: I guess seebs already gave us the numbers.
