I don't think so. I think that there have been "rebuttals" but not by scholars - only by apologists who are offended by the idea that there is a flaw in their scripture.

Could you clarify this for me, I'm not sure whether your first sentence is regarding the title of the OP or the text of the OP...

Do you mean that you don't think Misquoting Jesus is good? Or do you just disagree that there have been rebuttals by scholars?

bf, just get the (correct) idea into your head that there is nothing more special about Jesus (if he existed) than there is about any other charismatic religious figure past or present.

Miraculous claims were made about him, but miraculous claims have been made about lots of people.

None substantiated.

Let it go!

It's nothing to worry about.

Start healing.

Sorry I should have quoted the text. Misquoting Jesus = good. Rebuttals by scholars = not there.

Could you elaborate?

Misquoting Truth was discussed in this thread. The author is an apologist, not a scholar by the usual definition of the term.

why would his status as a non-scholar have any relevance to what i said?

Hi ~M~ - so far you haven't said anything of substance. The OP raised the issue of "rebuttal by scholars."

What interesting points did the author of Misquoting Truth make, in your opinion?

What is it to say something of substance? I enjoyed the parts about the authorship of the gospels; i found the points interesting.

do you have any other replies to make that are virtually irrelevant to my own or can we end this now?
