In this shower this morning, I got to thinking. Why are christians against teen pregnancy so much, and why do they claim people should only have children when they are older and married. If I remember correctly, Mary was 14 when she had Jesus, and they seem to worship her enough.

Was she 14? I always thought 17. Hmmm, impregnanting a 14 year old girl against her will would get you a LOOOOOONG jail sentence in this day and age. Somehow I don't think 'but God did it first!' would go down well in court..
I think that what xians specifically object to is what they see as immorality though. |

This has probably, under many ages, been primarily economic issue.
Even now it is probably better for a girl to get a basic education before she has a baby. Then of coarse there are always the type of people who get on their high-horses and judge others of whom they know nothing. Do they still call the children of unmarried mothers illegitimate in England? |

I thought some Biblical "scholars" put Mary's age at as young as 12.
