Cool Split second existence,as a matter of fact,!

Thier are no 'future',or'past',only 'now' and only for a split second, then 'now' becomes the past,non-existence, and the future are always a split secomd ahead,!!also non-existence,!! best argument you can articulate are 'confirmation'!! heh, heh, :devil3:

I seem to get your first sentence which seems to state that we are constantly living in the present but I don't get what you mean by it being the "best argument you can articulate are 'confimation'!!", so can you expand on your idea a little bit more.

I am not so sure but are you trying to point out that there is no evidence that our past actually 'exists' and that we could have been created just 10 seconds ago but we think that we have lived for a long time because of our memories?

Really, it depends on the complexity and capability of the system you're reffering to.

For instance, this message thread definately has a past, present, and future. That is to say, that this message I am writing will, in a few minutes, be recorded onto digital media and remain, and other messages will likely follow. The only past that applies to this system, however, is what's finally recorded; I can type in an entire line of text, delete it, and type something completely different in, and no one will ever know because it will not be recorded. The present, in terms of this system, is therefore the period of time I can make changes to the text without them being recorded into the system's past, and the future is a time not yet arrived at when I submit or delete this post.

This, of course, has no bearing on other systems, even though those systems may affect what I type here; for instance, someone could come up and turn my computer off, thus deleting my post. This does not mean that the person coming up and turning my computer off is an unplanned factor; as defined earlier, it simply advances from present stage to what is currently (as I'm writing this) future stage. In addition, the external system defining someone coming up and turning off the power to my computer could also be defined this way.

So, I think a better definition of past, present, and future is this: the past is what is recorded and can be retrieved in the present to affect the present, the present is a period of time where things can be edited before they've been recorded in the past, and the future is any time after events prevent further changes to the present from being made.

Wow! Being sophmoric is fun!

That's a nice burn there, BioBeing, but Cojana of Reseda has already gone professional on a different level of reality.
