I'm far more interested in the Bible and what the Bible says than what current, secular science thinks.

God bless,

If I was Copernicus and you were John Calvin or Martin Luther you would be asking to debate the resolution: "The Bible teaches a geocentric model of the universe"

You'd be as wrong then as you are now. Sure, if one accepts a plain text literal interpretation, one would believe the earth is fixed and the heavens orbit around it. One would also be inclined to believe that the earth is flat. It is through science that we have come to understand these relevant portions of Scripture to not be taken literally.

No matter how hard you kick and scream and try to act like there's a difference, there just isn't.

The reason you fear a real evaluation of the scientific data is because you fear the data itself. You know deep down that all of this YEC science is nothing more than creative data interpretation. One has to deny reason and logic in order to fit the evidence into the young earth presupposition. If anyone needs a tissue, it's you.
