[quote=David B;4253449]Well, it looks that way to me

An old saw, a quote from someone who I forget 'the devil is in the detail'.

Not to be taken literally, you understand.

I gave you loads of cues that I once was led astray by false beliefs, you say I've lost my faith, claim a hit (despite saying, as quoted above, that that is not what you are about) on the grounds that I have lost my faith.

Well, Duh! I don't expect people on this board to take my posts as extraordinarily enlightening (especially as opposed to those on the boards who are in touch with scientific advances before they are announced to the world),

So you didn't look at the links I provided for you?

As you fail to have respond, let me take the point further:-
The thing that makes you different to these other jackals, is that you have a deep conscience. So you still retain an essence of ethic(which I suppose your pages will explain this)

[quote]You cannot lie to me, so you evade the question.
Quote:

I don't like lies. What question are you suggesting I've evaded? And, OTOH, have you not been evading my simple request for evidence in support of any god(s) yourself.

In Christian mythology, there is a somwhat wise saying about motes and planks. But , I prefer to put things in my own terms, so I will say the pot calls the snowball black.

Point me to a question I haven't answered. I'll point you to one of mine you haven't. Provide one iota of evidence for a god. Why do you avoid it? No good answer?

Wrong. And wrong.

No - it was because in my younger days I found it hard to reconcile ethics with my then atheism, that I looked for paranormal answers. My bad. I do question your term 'ethical substance', though. if it is a substance, then what is its specific gravity, its specific heat, its colour...

If any sperm other than the one that fertilised your mothers egg had happened to get there first, then you would not exist, though someone else would exist in your place.

I think you have some symptoms of it. Not a classical case of it, though. This is not meant disparagingly. I have some symptoms of it myself, IMV.

David B (wondes if you ever pace around the room you are in)

It is a sad world that you build your props David.

Yet it must also be apparent to you that I can lose points easier than I can make them. providing that I am what you say.

I am pretty sure of myself, and when that is the case, I just don't let go.
If you think I am going to start another 150 page debate about points........ I gave up about ten posts ago.

I would like to take up the point about the progressive/instant conversion in our posts.

There must have been a point along the line A-B that you decided that this was not your path.

I am not that stupid to accept that a person is brought up with a Christian upbringing, starts to question his faith, goes in mystic sciences then becomes an infidel (or whatever you like to call yourself) 'burning' from one extreme to the other when both extremities are as different as chalk and cheese. This is pretty much like going into LemonTree mode (I can't spell schizophrenic)

It just does not happen that way. There has to be a make/break point along that line.
A point that made you switch over

Sorry that I can't accept that because I am seeing it different and until it makes more sense to me , then it is just a case of accepting what you say

I don't pace the room, I am a pretty calm person.

A bit like a bottle of wine

George, you are a very deep, serious person and of course, very intelligent. Would it be fair to say that I am picking up on some negativity and somberness from you? How many times during the day do you laugh? I mean like a good guffaw where you just feel happy?
For a minute I thoght you were going to say that you were psychic!

If you mean:- Am I one of those who sits in a restaurant, gives out a high pitched squeeel, then stutter my laugh followed by clapping so that everyone can hear....the answer is NO!

There are many threads here showing genuine support and concern for other posters that you have not seen. I wish you could have "met" our dear Allan (WinAce) he was postive, energetic, fun, wise, loveable.....and maintained this attitude while he knew he was dying. He touched tons of lives in a very good way--and I don't think he ever even reached his 22 birthday. We miss him.
Must have made a few laugh

I reckon my point is that if you look for and show support and love, you will, indeed, get it. If you look for disharmonies, depravity, lostness, you will get that, too. So........in my humble opinion, George, I believe your attitude is showing.
That is easy enough to evaluate, similar to saying the pig is crying as the cleaver cuts in it's back. Must be good bacon for the chopper upper. I always wondered why roast pig on a platter with an apple in it's mouth always seems to be smiling

Kind regards,

Aw...come on George...lighten up, will ya? I'm the resident, annoying postive person at IIDB, and I have a bad habit of amplifying the good qualities in people......it's a blessing and a curse. I saw you display some humor in your introduction thread so I KNOW you can lighten up and have a little fun on the boards. You may be half a bubble of plumb, but you're human with feelings....perhaps, with more feelings than some people.

BTW....I detected loads of sacrasm in your reponse to me. And....nooo, I was not going to say I am psychic. Far from it. Hee hee....I love sacrastic remarks.....bring it on, Big Boy!

You see what you do not realise, is that I am a happy chap with a whacky sense of humour. Being an Atheist, you have no idea how sensitives work.

We have got natural abilities like everyone else, but we not only develop the sixth sense, but we focus our energies in a way that it drains.

When there is no positive feedback, it sucks because there is no return energy.

The site is like a sucking vortex that has so much bad residual energy, it is just like damp that sticks on a wall.

You don't only get my vibes, but I get yours! (not yours personally) and it is like a stench that puts you in a bad mood.

<edited>

Sometimes it is not easy to understand what comes through, but it is no differnt when you go to a place and feel uncomfortable. We all get the feeling (well maybe)

When I go to a restaurant, I have to be seated away from everybody because it feels nausiating. Sometimes if I go to a place, I feel I have to have a bath. This is different, it is like a suffocation.

Prove it.

A million dollars says you can't.

The Foundation is committed to providing reliable information about paranormal claims. It both supports and conducts original research into such claims.

At JREF, we offer a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."

To date, no one has ever passed the preliminary tests.

Are you sure I'm an atheist?

George, why don't you try giving postive feedback.

Well, that doesn't entirely sound like a comment that would come from a happy go lucky dude...but oh well....

Why does it feel "nausiating, suffocating?"
