I find scientology pretty hilarious, except for the damage it actually does to people. Incredibly disturbing to see people buying into something so blatantly ridiculous.

Scientology (and mormonism) are great pieces of evidence for atheism. They show that even in absense of the supernatural people will still devote their lives and bank accounts to silly cults. It isn't proof that religions are entirely mythical, but it's profound evidence that at least some religions are purely man-made, and that human beings are innately gullible and desperate enough to buy into a total crock of shit.

It also shows that believers don't have to be liars or delusional to devote their lives to a silly cult. They can simply be gullible humans, and be wrong about it.
