That's enough. Magus' ethnicity is not even remotely the topic of this thread. The reaction on Rapture Ready to the idea of a nuclear strike on Syria is.

Let's get back to it, please.

He's the one claiming it. I just wanted clarification.

Get used to disappointment. Or assuage your curiosity via PM.

I'll go a route that is on topic.

So Magus55, on the subject of the anhilation of Israel, do you as an arabian decendant of Abraham (if this is correct), feel that your arab brethren may suffer a tad after god lets loose with his almighty righteousness? Do you not feel any compassion for their divine plight?

Dropping 2 atomic bombs on Japan ended the worst war in history.
Not true, the war was effectively over.

Below quote from here although its the only really relevent thing to the topic, the article is an interesting read.

-----

"First use of the atom bomb

By August 1945 Japan was already militarily defeated and Japanese statesmen wanted to discuss terms of surrender. But President Truman rejected these overtures. By that time he knew that the atom bomb had been successfully tested and was ready for use. Despite strong protests from scientists on the Manhattan Project, he decided to explode atom bombs on populated areas. Saving lives of American troops was no doubt an important factor, even though this meant a greater loss of Japanese lives, but more important was to demonstrate to the world, particularly to the Soviet Union, the overwhelming military strength acquired by the United States. James Byrnes, the hawkish Secretary of State at the time, made this clear when he said: 'Our possessing and demonstrating the bomb would make Russia more manageable.'"

-----

Dropping a nuke would solve nothing, and would cause chaos around the world. Notwithstanding the fact that three times the number of Palestinians have been killed since the beginning of the intifada, and Israel has no right to do anything until it ends its illegal occupation of Palestinian land.

Bottomline the entire belief in an End Times Rapture is very recent (the past Century) and Cultic in origin. There is no support in Orthodox/Traditional Church teaching for this rather dangerous belief.

if israel would just back the fuck out of palestine, and mind you, this is 'just a hunch', but maybe, the breedingplatform for terrorism will fall and the two nations can actually co-exist.

but i suppose it's okay for one nation to occupy the other and violate every human rights law we, the people of earth, have collectively agreed to....as long as it's jews doing it, right?
