I just checked out the board he uses. More than likely, they get their warning level raised. The Metboard uses the Invision Power Board platform. One of the features it has is this thing called a warn system. The warn level can be raised and lowered at the administrators' (and possibly moderators') discretion. So that is likely how they are penalised.

Reopened after polite request from original poster . However, this thread will only stay open as long as there is no obvious slutting ... you have been warned! *scary music*

Really, a lot of it comes down to your definition of slutting. I mean, I post a hell of a lot and I guess many people would say that a lot of what I post isn't exactly intellectual genius. I don't know if that counts as slutting or not tho .. I mean, I don't DO it to slut, specifically. What do people think?

I think it really depends on the intention of the poster. For the most part, one can tend to spot the spammers and post slutters. People who post with the express purpose of upping their post counts will likely tend to avoid serious debate and only post one-liners and the like. It is interesting to note that I have never been formally warned about post slutting by a moderator. An observations such as this is interesting due to the fact that I have had more than 1,500 posts in the last month.

Since most of my posts are not one-liners (with the exception of the previously mentioned battle thread), I have probably dodged the dubious label. I would tend to not consider myself a post-slut, though.

I'm not in the same league as some people, but I seem to be able to maintain a decent post count without post slutting.

One thing most people miss is that a lot of posts that could be interpreted as post slutting really aren't. They are posts that help build a community, without having any other value of their own. They simply let people connect.
